Jersey Farming Conference - Farming Matters

at La Mare Wine Estate (and on-line) on Thursday 5th November 2026

Farming remains at the heart of Jersey's identity, economy and landscape. In recent years, renewed investment, innovation and the entrepreneurial spirit of farmers and food businesses have strengthened profitability, diversified production and created new opportunities across the rural economy. This progress has helped give renewed confidence in its future.

In an increasingly uncertain world, food security and resilience are more important than ever. Producing healthy food while protecting nature, managing climate risks and supporting sustainable growth remains central to Jersey's agricultural future. Farmers are increasingly adopting technologies such as precision farming equipment and data-driven crop management, while building resilience through improved water management, healthy soils, biodiversity enhancement and regenerative farming practices.

This year's conference is an opportunity for farmers, industry leaders and government to celebrate recent successes, share knowledge and explore how we can continue working together to build a productive, resilient and sustainable agricultural sector for future generations.

The conference is open to all businesses and individuals who have an interest in the rural economy and we look forward to welcoming as many of you as possible.

The Jersey Farming Conference is organised by Farm Jersey with funding from the Government of Jersey. The conference is being sponsored by Jersey Water with the mid-morning session being sponsored by local insurance specialists, Hepburns and the locally sourced lunch being sponsored by Normans Agri-Garden.
